Workshop Objectives:
Increase participant’s knowledge & skills in strategic communication, including life skills    concepts, approaches & methods
Provide participants an overview of the adolescent reproductive health communication    package including direct exposure to program activities in the field.
Impart participants valuable information, skills and materials for implementing ARH    communication programs in their own context.
Participants
Senior to mid-level trainers/ facilitators and program personnel from government, NGOs and development partner agencies whose programs include adolescent health.
Topics to be covered
The "P-Process"- The Communication Program Planning Process, or the "P-Process" provides the framework around which strategic communication programs are modeled. This session includes introduction to the five stages of the process such as Analysis, Strategic Design, Development & Testing, Implementation & Monitoring, Evaluation & Replanning.
Behavior Change- Identifying key factors that influence people to change behavior and how to promote behavior development in adolescents. ,
Audience Analysis- Introducing various audience segmentation strategies, including segmentation by key demographic variables. Presenting alternative strategies for segmentation according to values and lifestyles, health behavior and life stages.
Overview of "Know Yourself" Package- ARH communication package including information, education & motivation and building life skills of the adolescents and creating enabling environment for adolescents.
Life Skills: Concepts and Methods- Understanding the main areas of life skills and their application in ARH programs such as decision-making, problem solving, critical and creative thinking and interpersonal skills.
Life Skills: Applications to the Field- Gain experience on how to develop life skills among the adolescents through ARH Life Skills Workshops.
Field Observation
- Observe how ARH activities are being implemented in the field by the NGOs including life skills workshops, adolescent forums and adolescent-friendly corners etc.
Building an Enabling Environment for Adolescent Reproductive Health
- Selecting possible channels and social partners for communication in order to get support for an adolescent reproductive health program at the community, district or national levels. The participants will also learn how to implement sensitization, advocacy and promotional programs with communities, governments and NGOs or others.
Developing an Adolescent Reproductive Health Program
- Identifying opportunities using existing resources and developing action plans accordingly for one's own organization.
Monitoring and Evaluation- Identifying key opportunities and challenges with monitoring and evaluating adolescent health programs.
