INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION & COUNSELING TRAINING


An intensive one week learning opportunity for mid-level program managers, service providers and others concerned to enhance participants' understanding, knowledge and skill on interpersonal communication and counseling

As one of the BCCP business initiatives a training course on Interpersonal Personal Communication & Counseling was held at BARD, Comilla from September 03- 07, 2006. The training intended to provide latest interpersonal communication & counseling concept, knowledge & skills. A mix of energetic young group and experienced professionals were the participants from different organizations including the government (GOB), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international NGOs and private sectors. A total of 23 participants attended the training course.

Variety of training methodologies were used in the training session which include review, discussion and sharing (RDS), brain storming, group work, practical session, role play, case study analysis, worksheet, video screening, Visualization in Participatory Programs or VIPP method and opportunities for the participants to present their own organizations’ activities.

According to the participants' feedback, the training course was a great success. All the participants rated the training as above average or excellent. Participants completed thee types of evaluation instruments during the training that includes: pre/post-tests, course evaluation form and a daily mode meter sheet. Participants felt the training course was useful for their personal working in the field of development communication.
