NUSRAT JAHAN TARIN ( TARIN )
NUSRAT JAHAN TARIN has an eagerness to work as a researcher with her affinity to scientific research, innovation and development. She has an environmental science background from the SWED, DU, and later, she preferred an interdisciplinary study in the WRD program at the IWFM, BUET. Currently, she is involved as a Program Officer (Capacity Building) at BCCP, a leading strategic communication NGO working on capacity development and research programs. Her research adherence and academic context led her acquiring knowledge from several programs on renewable energy, ecosystem conservation, climate change, water security issues in peri-urban setting, conflict resolution, resource management, socio-economic progress, etc. She was involved in “REACH” led by the University of Oxford, to improve water security for underprivileged Asia and Africa. Before that, she worked for ICIMOD as an Individual Consultant in the “REEECH” initiative on energy access. She learned about delta management in a capacity building project, “DeltaCAP” directly related to BDP 2100. To develop understanding of resource management, climate change, and livelihoods, she experienced knowledge from the “CoCooN-CCMCC” program. Besides, Tarin worked on estimating efficiency of limited resources and uses through the research projects on “Biofuel” supported by the Biotechnology Research Center and the CASR, DU. With her research interest on WASH, Public health and Gender Studies, Tarin built understanding on socio-technical research approach and SWOT analysis. She co-authored several research publications focused on the environment, social science and development. Tarin received NST Fellowship from the MoST, GoB in 2014-2015 and 2018-2019 for her research.
