A.K. SHAFIQUR RAHMAN
A.K. SHAFIQUR RAHMAN is currently holding the position of Adviser (Development) in BCCP who is a seasoned behavior change communications (BCC) expert, with over 30 years of progressively senior experience in conceptualizing, designing, implementing and coordinating strategic communication and community mobilization interventions for international and national development agencies in Bangladesh. Throughout his tenure with Family Planning Association of Bangladesh (FPAB), Bangladesh Institute of Research for Promotion of Essential & Reproductive Health & Technologies (BIRPERHT), Johns Hopkins University/Center for Communication Programs (JHU/CCP) and Bangladesh Center for Communications Programs (BCCP). Mr. Rahman has been responsible for strategic planning and guidance to project teams and NGO partners in developing SBC and community mobilization interventions for specific target groups in the fields of public health, education, road safety and good governance, with special expertise in family planning/reproductive health and other programs targeting women, girls, youth and vulnerable groups of the community. He has distinguished himself as a team leader for strategic planning, designing, implementing and monitoring of community mobilization approaches and capacity building interventions. In achieving these approaches, he worked with different stakeholders' group for policy advocacy with the government officials, media advocacy with the media professionals to leverage the power of media and with the communication professionals, health providers, educationist, community leaders, women, and youth leaders. Mr. Rahman holds a Master of Arts in Bangla Literature from University of Dhaka.
