A reputed national-level strategic communication organization working in the field of Strategic Communication with UN Women funds is looking for young, energetic, flexible, and open-minded person in the position of “Economist” to carry on the project of Empower: Women for Climate-resilient Societies. Job Title: Economist: 1 post.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Review comprehensive national and global documents related to gender responsive climate change, analysis policy gap and prepare report.
  • Facilitate 8 Ministry Consultation Workshops and analyze workshop findings
  • Develop time-bound (2025 - 2050) sectoral Gender Action Plans for Adaptation to Climate Change (GAPACC) for the eight selected ministries/Departments. The plans shall be costed and include clear monitoring frameworks.
  • Observe/facilitate validation workshops for finalization on GAPACCs
  • Develop a monitoring framework for Gender Action Plan for Adaption to Climate Change (GAPACCs).
  • Develop final GAPACC in consultation with each ministry with cost and monitoring framework for 8 ministries/ departments
  • Follow-up of getting approval of the GAPACC with 8 ministries/departments
Qualifications:
  • Education: A master’s degree in economics, Ph.D. holders will get preference.
Experience:
  • At least 10 years of experience in economic research and analysis preferably Feminist Economist with a focus in costing, and budgeting for large-scale action planning.
  • Proven experience in costing long-term action plans, particularly in climate change, gender, or development sectors.
  • Familiarity with gender-responsive budgeting and monitoring frameworks.
  • Experience working with international development organizations, particularly UN agencies, is an asset.
Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze the benefits of an action plan against the expenditure cost.
  • Prediction capacity of economic outcomes and present trends like inflation, growth rate and policy decisions.
  • Expertise in using cost management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of global climate change frameworks (e.g., Paris Agreement, Sendai Framework) and gender-sensitive policies.
  • Strong report writing skills and ability to present findings effectively.
