Knowledge management (KM)
Knowledge management (KM) is a systematic process of capturing, distributing, and effectively using knowledge; and an important component of capacity strengthening for Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC). Knowledge management is the capacity to act effectively, and can improve coordination, enhance learning and knowledge application, thus heightening service quality, strengthening health systems, and ultimately improving health and development outcomes.
BCCP introduces tools to promote access to and use of knowledge among health and development practitioners to improve outcomes by sharing perspectives, ideas, experience and information. BCCP supports the implementing partners and other stakeholders to develop strong, consistent, and effective SBCC to ensure that information are available in the right place at the right time to enable informed decisions; and to improve efficiency by reducing the need to rediscover knowledge.
BCCP has introduced appropriate information and communication technology (ICT) tools for SBCC and Knowledge Management, such as digital archives, eLearning, eToolkits, Android apps, websites, and online communities of practice. These are contributing immensely towards planning and implementing effective and impactful SBCC programs in Bangladesh.
